About Our Founder

 

Hey there, I'm Rekita, and I believe in the power of turning struggles into strengths and challenges into opportunities for growth.

 

Back in 2018, I felt a stirring in my heart, a call to make a difference in the lives of others through starting a nonprofit. But life had its own plans for me at the time. I had to focus on being a young wife, mother, employee and student.

By the time I was 25, life threw me a curveball, leading me to make the courageous decision to leave an abusive marriage. Suddenly, I found myself navigating the uncharted waters of single parenthood with my precious daughter, Adaora, by my side. It wasn't easy... & still isn't. Financial challenges seemed to loom at every corner, and resources were scarce.

Yet, it was during those moments of struggle that my passion for helping others ignited even brighter. I knew firsthand the hardships single mothers faced, and I was determined to make a difference. That's why I decided to turn my own journey into a beacon of hope for others who might find themselves in similar situations.

​

As a single mother, I understand the importance of support and empathy. And with my background in nonprofit management and organizational leadership, I knew I had the skills to make a meaningful impact. My heart has always been drawn to helping others, and I believe it's my purpose in life.

​

Every day, I pray for the opportunity to be in a position where I can extend a helping hand to those in need. Through our nonprofit, I'm able to live out that prayer, making a tangible difference in the lives of others. Together, with the support of our community, we're turning struggles into triumphs and spreading love and empathy wherever we go.
